Student Fund
Prerequisites & Eligibility
The Summr Student Fund is open to both undergraduate and master's-level students who meet the academic and coursework requirements below. All applicants must complete the Summr Institute Foundational Pathway before applying.
Undergraduate Students
For students pursuing a Bachelor's degree at an accredited university
- Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited four-year university
- Completed at least two semesters of undergraduate coursework
- Maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2
- Completed introductory coursework in finance, economics, or a quantitative discipline
- Completed the Summr Institute Foundational Pathway
- Strong interest in capital markets, portfolio management, or quantitative investing
Master's Students
For students enrolled in graduate programs in finance, business, or quantitative fields
- Currently enrolled in a Master's program (MBA, MS Finance, MS Data Science, or related field)
- Completed at least one semester of graduate coursework
- Maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.4
- Demonstrated quantitative and analytical coursework at the graduate level
- Completed the Summr Institute Foundational Pathway
- Professional or academic experience in finance, research, or data analysis preferred
Summr Institute Foundational Pathway
Required for all Student Fund applicants regardless of academic level
The Foundational Pathway is a structured curriculum within the Summr Institute covering 20 modules and approximately 41 hours of coursework. It builds core knowledge in financial markets, investment principles, and Summr's approach to multi-asset, multi-strategy portfolio management. Topics include:
- Regulatory foundations and market structure
- Introduction to multi-asset class investing
- Quantitative methods and statistical reasoning
- Risk management principles
- SIE and Series 66 exam preparation modules
- Trading simulation across crypto, derivatives, FX, and options
Completion of the Foundational Pathway earns you a Summr Institute certificate and unlocks eligibility for the Student Fund application.
